What I Don’t Name Can’t Exist?

StopTheStorm shares a blog that reveals a glimpse into the harsh difficulty experienced by a childhood abuse survivor, upon flying home to visit family. Years later, at 61 years old, the pains long past seem so close at hand. Through this blog, we are allowed inside one individual’s very human struggle with the echoes of those hurts. This PTSD survivor does not want to name the disabilities that have resulted from the childhood trauma. Is this suffering still in the past or does it continue to exist in the present? Does naming those disabilities give them power? Each of us has a different answer to these very personal issues.
