Mindfulness Meditation Benefits Employees

Can mindfulness meditation ease the stress of multitasking? According to a study published in the May 2012 issue of Graphics Interface, David Levy, Ph.D. and other researchers at the University of Washington say the answer is: yes. The research team looked at three groups of 12 to 15 human resources professionals. One group was trained in mindfulness meditation. A second was taught body relaxation techniques. The third group was used as a control. All of them were tested in several areas. Results showed that those who received mindfulness meditation excelled in all the multitasking and memory tests compared to the others involved in the study. Results suggest a lessening of stress in those individuals.
